CoupleDownstairs-7320

David is an audio producer, writer, filmmaker and content creator who has worked in a variety of different formats and genres. He recently produced, directed and co-authored audio-exclusive projects in connection with characters and worlds derived from the novels of Hugo Award-winning and New York Times best-selling author Brandon Sanderson.

Prior to his foray into the exciting world audio-based content and storytelling, he developed, directed and produced a feature-length documentary film project for Cora Media – an independently financed production company focused on creating socially conscious content. The film explored the complex role of non-profit hospital systems in our healthcare system and how their burgeoning influence and monopolistic tendencies affect both price and access to care.

Before working on nonfiction and documentary content, David wrote and developed several feature film and television projects for producers like Anne Thomopoulos and Sunil Nayar and companies such as DMG, White Horse and Dynamo. He was on the writing staff for the TNT drama Murder in the First created by Emmy-winning writer and producer, Steven Bochco, and wrote two episodes of the bilingual, digital series RPM Miami for the NBC Universal network mun2.

He received his M.F.A. from the Peter Stark Producing Program at the USC School of Cinematic Arts. While there, he directed multiple short films and was awarded the highly selective Peter Stark Special Project Grant to direct The Couple Downstairs , which was overseen by the Academy Award-winning producer of The Sting , Tony Bill.

David is a keen traveler and spent a year living and working in Seoul, South Korea. In his free time, he enjoys listening to British rock from all decades, reading science fiction short stories and following his beloved soccer team, Arsenal.

David was born in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico and grew up in a multi-cultural household in Vero Beach, Florida. He is a graduate of Princeton University where he studied International Politics and focused on the political and economic conditions of failed states in Sub-Saharan Africa. His academic background in various social studies has guided his mission to craft compelling content that challenges cultural assumptions and sheds light on political, economic and environmental issues.

Dark One: Forgotten

From #1 New York Times Bestselling, Hugo Award-winning author, Brandon Sanderson, and co-author Dan Wells, comes DARK ONE: FORGOTTEN, directed and produced by David Pace and Max Epstein.

Every year in the United States there are fifteen thousand murders, give or take a few hundred. Of those, nearly forty percent go unsolved. In this six-part audio series, Christina Walsh is determined to change that. After struggling with the loss of her father, she sets out on a journey to bring the justice that has eluded her to the families of other victims. And she starts with a particularly strange case. The murder of world-renowned violinist Leona McPherson who mysteriously disappeared years ago after a concert at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles. As Christina digs deeper, the story gets stranger. Leona was a prodigy, someone too good to be forgotten, but that’s exactly what has happened. She’s been forgotten. Entirely.

So Christina embarks on a cross-country mission, with her roommate Sophie, to figure out what happened to Leona. In the process, she uncovers a trail of similar victims who have suffered the same fate. But if no one can remember the victims, how can the killer possibly be caught? Is Christina crazy or has she stumbled upon something so implausible it must be true?

The Original

Hugo Award-winning authors Brandon Sanderson and Mary Robinette Kowal team up in this exclusive audio-first production of The Original, a sci-fi thriller set in a world where one woman fights to know her true identity and survive the forces that threaten her very existence. Produced by David Pace and Max Epstein for Mainframe, LLC.

Lux

A new team of Reckoners must infiltrate the flying city of Lux to take down the Epic Lifeforce in this audio-exclusive novel from Brandon Sanderson, the best-selling author of the “Stormlight Archive” and “Mistborn” series, and co-author Steven Michael Bohls. David provided story development and creative consulting for this project.

Stephen Leeds: Death and Faxes

From #1 New York Times Bestselling, Hugo Award-winning author, Brandon Sanderson, and co-authors Max Epstein, David Pace, and Michael Harkins, comes an audio-first techno-thriller addition to the universe of Stephen  Leeds.

A one-man team of experts, Stephen Leeds is a genius of unparalleled mental capabilities who can learn new skills or master entire scholarly disciplines in mere hours.  This extensive knowledge can only be maintained via Stephen’s  “aspects”—hallucinations his mind creates that embody a specific skillset or area of study.

So when an unprecedented Internal Revenue Service data breach stumps the FBI, Stephen is brought in to investigate. With the help of his aspects, he must uncover the connection between millions of stolen tax returns, a mysterious hacker named Enoch, a strange, cutting-edge technology that uses soundwaves to transfer data, and a nearly extinct Mesopotamian religion which once rivaled Christianity. What Leeds discovers along the way will reveal the devastating consequences of this new technology, test the limits of his aspects, and lead him face to face with a man hell-bent on vengeance, for which no cost is too high.

Antarctica

Antarctica is a sci-fi western set in an overpopulated near future, where the desperate need for energy has led to a gold rush for resources on the once-barren continent. Antarctica will follow the residents of the small settlement of Graystone, a ramshackle independent colony that survives by providing goods and services to the miners stationed at corporate outposts in the surrounding area. It focuses on the greed, ambition, lawlessness, and lust for power that has defined and challenged all frontiers, as well as the unique obstacles facing a world where it seems the only place left to go is south.

Murder in the First

Murder in the First is a serialized police drama set in San Francisco starring Taye Diggs, Kathleen Robertson and Tom Felton. David worked in the writer’s room as a staff writer, writer’s assistant and script coordinator.

Zero Beach

Zero Beach is a serialized television crime drama. However, it’s a crime show without any real police because, unlike the big cities full of enough CSI units to find Jimmy Hoffa, the police here would simply rather pretend that crime never happens. There are drugs and guns (it’s Florida after all), but there are no cartel leaders or criminal masterminds and no one here knows enough about the history of physics to generate a hip alias. There are only the desperate and confused residents that make up this tapestry of small town Florida, each pursuing their own agendas, each trying to survive and take, by hook or crook, whatever small slice of the pie still remains.
